    Not sure of how much better you've done for yourselves financially compared to 11 years ago, but your lux Cambodia videos were very very out of touch with what's actually going on.. 1. You can get much much better and more beautiful boutique hotels that are better than any of the ones you picked for much much less. Around $35 a night in a lot of places. 2. If you had the Grab app on your phone you could take tuk tuks all over the place for $1-1.50 each ride, not $5-10. 3. You can rent a tuk tuk for the ENTIRE day in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap for $20-25 a day, even for a driver to take you to Angkor Temple and wait for you and take you back for that price. Not $75. 4. You over paid for food everywhere. You can go into many many restaurants and pay $2.50-$3.50 per meal even as a foreigner. Not that you spoke about it but you can get a 2 bed 2 bath beautiful modern western home for $250-350 a month or less.

      thanks so much for your comment! that's a great question... I think Mauritius is the most "accessible" from a shopping, dining and beach experience. Seychelles is a lot more islands-based so you're traveling around via ferry or flight and it can be very expensive so I would consider Mauritius. Madagascar is very raw and also involves a lot of travel. If I were to choose, I think I'd go with Mauritius :). xx, Maren

      Glad you like it! It depends on what you're looking to do, and how long your overall trip is, but typically if you're going for a week long trip, we'd recommend a night or two on Tahiti , and then the rest on Moorea. Do you have an idea of what the activities are you're looking to do? Or what hotels you're looking at? That really sways where you should spend the bulk of your time.

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru 4 дня назад

      Hey Liam! Thanks for your comment! So you’re correct, they only make the standard villas available on points but there are a few cash options for upgrades. The cash upgrades typically depend on the occupancy but a lot of people have success doing a split stay where they upgrade for 2 nights or so at the end of their trip for a reasonable amount to experience a water villa. They do also give complimentary upgrades to Globalists. I would recommend reaching out before booking to see what availability and pricing looks like for your dates so you can decide if it’s worth it or not :)

      Hey there! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience! Did you stay at the resort or just visit the public beach on a tour? It's unfortunate to hear about the trash, but that wasn't our experience at all. Seasonly, just like anywhere else there are currents that I'm sure might wash more trash up than others. On the resort side they really keep the beach pristine, and had people raking it daily. The DR does have a trash problem though, but I don't think that's a fair characterization of all of Samana! Hopefully you give it a another chance someday, we love it down here 🤷‍♀️

      So glad you enjoyed it! They're actually quite different, Seychelles has a very unique look, with the granite boulders and much higher elevations than Maldives islands. While I’m sure that’s true, five star hotels should have consistent cleaning practices every day of a guest stay. I just found your site and I'm super excited as I am putting my itinerary together for March 2025. It's a Super helpful video for people like me that are putting this together with no much experience I was going to choose the hotel based on the experiences (tours) they were advertising-so maybe that's not the hotel for me since the hotel is in the pricey side and the tours seems not that great. I would like a hotel to help me with my tours if possible. Do you know of any other tour Companies I should research or consider? I don't want to pay double thru them if I don't have to. Thanks again!

    Thx for the review. I’m considering going there in August with my wife and 2 kids under 5. Wanted to ask if dining from a la carta is expensive like the Maldives or not cause I was wondering if I should go for half board? And what was the beach pool room u were in? Cause I too looking for the quiet side of the beach

      @VoyagerGuru 19 дней назад

      Hey! So yes, a la carte is pricey, just like the Maldives, although maybe slightly less. Either way, I think I would definitely consider half-board. Also, the villa's you'll want to be in are on the Island, Villa's 161 to 167. FYI, we can get you special perks for Four Seasons bookings, so be sure to reach out to us and we can see what the best price/perks are for you, just DM us on instagram (@voyagerguru) or email us at team@voyagerguru.com

    Hey! We are planning to go to maldives for two weeks and are in between cora cora, oblu sangeli and emerald spa resort. Which one would you recommend?

      Hey there! Thanks for reaching out! We have not yet been to Sangeli, but I can say emerald is the highest end of the three. Ultimately I think it’ll come down to budget - feel free to email me directly and I can help you decide based on your needs :) team@voyagerguru.com

    I enjoyed your review. What about vegetarians like me? Do we have enough food options?

    • @VoyagerGuru
      @VoyagerGuru 21 день назад

      Hey there! Thanks so much! There are a lot of fresh vegetables in Hanoi which we absolutely loved. Most of the pho has chicken or beef stock so keep that in mind but they have a lot of dumplings and things like that that are vegetarian. I would just make sure to ask before ordering any soup based foods

    I think I would add more than one day for shopping just ‘in case’ I had something made !

      Hehe yea more days for shopping is good. we didn’t see too much customer tailoring in Hanoi like we did in Hoi A but there definitely are a lot of incredible shops to explore!

    Hello guys thank you for the review. How many days do you recommend to stay in Maldives? Hope you come to Mexico and review the all inclusive resorts we have in Cancun…😊 I think you will surprise because our service is top

      Hi! We love Mexico, and Cancun actually, some of our favorite hotels are there, but a lot of that travel was before we started our travel blogging, so we're certainly over due for a visit! As far as length of stay, it really depends. If you're coming from Mexico, I would say a week minimum because of the travel time. However, if you're combining it with something else, maybe a visit to Southeast Asia or Sri Lanka, India, Singapore, etc, then you can also turn it into a shorter 3-5 night stay, as a part of that trip. I would say the ideal length is usually 10 days, but like anywhere obviously you can stay as long as you want! It is different from costal areas like Mexico, or even Caribbean islands in that once you're on a resort, really the only access you have to anything is through that resort, so it also really depends on what type of person you are, and what you enjoy.
